Nobody’s saying our neighborhood is the Garden of Eden. Hell, some people say God avoids this place altogether, but it’s been a good home to us; to me and my kids, who I’m proud of, ‘cause every single one of them reminds me a little bit of me…We may not have much, but all of us, to a man, knows the most important thing in this life: we know how to fucking party!
Shameless is the Emmy-nominated drama/comedy currently leading (imho) Showtime’s line-up. The show tells the story of alcohol & drug-dependent Frank Gallagher, played by William H. Macy, and his six kids (Fiona, Lip, Ian, Debbie, Carl, & Liam) who are struggling to make ends meet; the lack of decent parentage not helping. Rounding out the cast of characters are the Gallagher’s neighbors, Kev and V., Sheila, played by Joan Cusack, an OCD-ridden housewife and mother of Lip Gallagher’s “girlfriend” Karen, and Mandy & Mickey Milkovitch, friends of the eldest Gallagher boys.
This is quite possibly one of the greatest television shows running right now, and I’ve made this post so that friends I know and other completely random Tumblr users could watch it. The writing is always fresh, and impeccably balanced between dramatic, often times tear-jerking scenes, & light-hearted moments that are sure to inspire laughter. If you are not watching Shameless, do something about it.
